To significantly improve the ease and affordability of connection for our customers, Thuraya has established a Point of Presence (POP) center at the Thuraya Gateway in Sharjah and an overseas Meet Me Point (MMP) in Telehouse, London. ThurayaIP POP and MMP offer guaranteed network performance and terrestrial bandwidth for customers looking for faster streaming of content.

This enhanced service is available to all customers requiring dedicated leased line connections for reliability, security, and other applications.

Scalability
The connection to the StreamingIP POP is scalable to fit customer requirements. The customer can upgrade at anytime to meet the growing traffic demand.

Cost Effectiveness
The infrastructure provides the benefits of performance, security and reliability associated with IP Leased Circuits at highly affordable rates.

Reliability
With redundant connections and network devices, the streaming infrastructure has been designed to be self healing in order to provide 99.99% uptime.

Performance
With assured packet delivery, a maximum of 50ms latency to anywhere within the service area, and maximum packet delay variation of 25ms, the streaming infrastructure is designed to provide a high level of service and support real time traffic for streaming media and other applications.

Seamlessness
Once deployed, the connection is seamless to the customer. Each customer will receive private IP addresses for the equipment on their site, accessible from ThurayaIP terminals.

Customer Benefits:

The POP infrastructure functions as a central hub for terminating IPLC and MPLS connections. This enables connections to streaming customers directly from the Thuraya Gateway, and acts as the connection hub for MMPs located outside the UAE. This offers customers higher service quality and improved reliability in comparison streaming over the internet.

Customers connecting to remote MMPs, for instance in London, England, will pass through the POP in the Thuraya Gateway.
